ACT WITH US — RESEARCH AND UNIVERSITIES

A real field to advance the science of human skills.

Créativité Québec seeks to collaborate with researchers, research centres and universities to better understand how human skills develop, become observable and transfer in authentic situations.

Our programs offer real youth fields. IMPACT provides an observation language under development. Research can help validate, improve and document their limits.

Youth in an authentic collective creativity setting
  1. 01Real experiences
  2. 02Observable traces
  3. 03Transferable knowledge
  4. 04Improved practices

THREE WAYS TO COLLABORATE

Connect research, the field and application.

01 — VALIDATE

Validate the IMPACT framework

Study the clarity of skills, the quality of observable manifestations, the consistency of judgments and the conditions for rigorous use.

What we bring

  • Authentic experiences and outputs
  • Rubrics under development
  • Educators, observers and juries
  • Experimentation fields

Expertise sought

Measurement and assessment, psychometrics, education sciences and human development.

02 — UNDERSTAND

Study skills in action

Observe how creativity, collaboration, communication, judgment and agency manifest in teams facing open problems.

What we bring

  • Clubs
  • Missions
  • Challenges
  • Championships
  • School and extracurricular contexts

Expertise sought

Learning sciences, psychology, sociology, youth development and action research.

03 — EQUIP

Design responsible uses of data and AI

Explore how traces, portfolios, observations and digital tools can support feedback without replacing human judgment.

What we bring

  • Real use cases
  • Prototypes
  • Educator needs
  • Digital infrastructure under development

Expertise sought

Responsible AI, human-computer interaction, learning analytics, data ethics and educational technologies.

EMERGING RESEARCH AGENDA

Important questions to explore — and an open framework to build.

We want to work with research on questions that can improve both the scientific understanding of human skills and their application in educational, community and professional settings.

  1. 01 — DEVELOPMENT

How do human skills evolve through repeated, collective and authentic experiences?

  2. 02 — OBSERVATION

Which manifestations reveal progression without reducing a person to a score?

  3. 03 — TRANSFER

Under what conditions does a skill mobilized in a mission transfer to school, work or civic life?

  4. 04 — TECHNOLOGY AND AI

How can data and artificial intelligence support feedback while preserving young people's judgment, autonomy and rights?

Contribute to the scientific governance of IMPACT

IMPACT is intended to become an open, documented and rigorously governed framework. We aim to progressively bring together external expertise to contribute to the taxonomy, methods, ethical protocols and research priorities.

Express interest in governance
  • Scientific committee
  • Taxonomy review
  • Validation protocols
  • Data and AI ethics
  • Version governance

FROM FIELD TO KNOWLEDGE

An applied research loop.

  1. 01FIELD

    League, clubs, missions and championships

Young people put their skills into action in authentic situations.

  2. 02OBSERVATION

    IMPACT

Manifestations, outputs and behaviours can be documented according to protocols to be built.

  3. 03RESEARCH

    Researchers and digital tools

Authorized traces are analysed rigorously and put back into context.

  4. 04IMPROVEMENT

    Programs, practices and assessment framework

Learnings improve experiences, tools and shareable knowledge.

  • Available today: youth fields and experiences.
  • In development: IMPACT, protocols and digital infrastructure.
  • To co-build: validation, longitudinal studies, governance and responsible data sharing.

COLLABORATION MODEL

What could a field study look like?

Hypothetical example

Observing collaboration over a League season

Field

Several teams complete missions and take part in a championship.

Possible question

« Which observable manifestations distinguish a team that truly coordinates its contributions from one that merely divides the tasks? »

Possible traces (subject to authorizations and protocol)

  • Outputs
  • Structured observations
  • Logbooks
  • Interviews
  • Self-assessments
  • Authorized videos

Possible outcomes

  • Improvement of a rubric
  • Recommendations to educators
  • Scientific communication
  • Open resource
  • Program improvement

NEXT STEP

Let's put a real field at the service of a question that matters.

Do you work on human skills, assessment, experiential learning, agency, artificial intelligence or educational data? Share your question, your expertise and the type of field you are looking for.
