OPEN FRAMEWORK

An open framework to make human skills visible.
Develop, observe and recognize what young people truly mobilize when they create, collaborate, decide and act.

An open Québec framework, developed and governed by Créativité Québec.
The team compares an AI-generated summary with the feedback of three users, spots an omission and revises its prototype.

WHY IMPACT
Human skills matter. Yet they rarely leave a trace.
In school and in real experiences, outcomes are documented more often than the decisions, adaptations and contributions that make them possible. IMPACT complements subject-based assessment with a shared language, observable manifestations and feedback oriented toward progress.
THE JOURNEY
From experience to visible progress.
- 01
Put into action
Create a situation where skills must truly be mobilized.
- 02
Observe
Spot a decision, a strategy, a contribution or an adaptation.
- 03
Gather evidence
Rely on productions, behaviours and reflections.
- 04
Give feedback
Turn observation into a clear comment and a next step.
- 05
Document
Preserve important traces beyond a single project.
- 06
Recognize
Make progress, contributions and demonstrated capacities visible.
REAL EVIDENCE
What does a proof of competence look like?
A skill is never inferred from a single impression or an isolated result. IMPACT triangulates observable manifestations, productions, reflections and multiple contexts to inform professional judgment.
An observable manifestation
A decision, an adaptation, an initiative or a contribution spotted in action.
A production
A prototype, a text, a presentation, a strategy or another meaningful trace.
A reflection
A self-assessment that helps the learner explain their choices and define the next step.
The same skill may show up in writing, in speech, in a production, an interaction, a decision or a reflection.

The team revises its proposal after comparing feedback from several users.
- OBSERVATION
The first solution did not address the user’s primary need.
- FEEDBACK
You used the collected evidence to challenge your initial assumption.
- NEXT STEP
Explicitly compare two options before selecting the next solution.
A SHARED LANGUAGE
Three ways to make progress more useful.
For young people
Understand their strengths, recognize their progress and better tell what they truly know how to mobilize.
For educators and coaches
Start with two or three skills in existing activities, then progressively expand observation, feedback and monitoring.
For organizations
Adopt a shared language, document learning and contribute to the evolution of practices.
OPEN AND RESPONSIBLE
Open to be adopted. Governed to remain credible.
An accessible core
Definitions, skills, progression principles, base rubrics and essential guides are intended to be accessible under an open licence.
Documented adaptations
Settings can adapt the framework to their age group, culture and context, while clearly indicating the changes made.
Governance that protects coherence
Official versions, contributions and evolutions of the framework are supervised so that openness builds trust rather than confusion.
The framework is open. The IMPACT brand, official versions, certifications and compliance guarantees remain protected.
Over time, adaptations, examples and learnings will be able to enrich a community of practice.
A DIGITAL TOOL
The framework is open. The NEXIA platform makes day-to-day use easier.
IMPACT can be used with simple tools or the digital environments already present in schools. A dedicated platform, NEXIA, is also in pilot to ease the collection of observations, organization of evidence, feedback and progress tracking.
- 01Observe in action
Quickly log a decision, a contribution, a strategy or an adaptation.
- 02Gather the evidence
Connect productions, photos, videos, reflections and observations.
- 03Build an evolving portfolio
Preserve significant traces and visualize the young person’s journey.
- 04Track progression
Prepare feedback and identify next steps.
AI in service of human judgment
The platform will be able to help organize evidence, prepare summaries and suggest feedback directions. The educator always keeps responsibility for interpretation and decision.
IN THE ECOSYSTEM
IMPACT is the language that connects experiences.

Creates authentic situations where skills can be mobilized.

Structures skills, evidence, feedback and progression.

Connects observations, portfolios, journeys and reports.
Créativité Québec initiates, governs and connects the whole.
