Purpose and scope
This statement covers Créativité Québec's public website, including its pages, forms, downloadable documents, and the multimedia content we publish or embed, to the extent that these are under our control. Domain covered: creativite.quebec.
We want our digital content and services to be usable by as many people as possible, and accessibility is taken into account as the site evolves. Platforms with accounts, specialized applications, or registration services may provide their own information when their interface or governance differs.
Our commitment
Accessibility is a condition for empowerment: our educational ambition would lose its meaning if digital barriers prevented people from understanding our content, exploring our programs, or taking part in our activities. It is not a final state achieved through a single check, but ongoing attention to design, writing, media, and the feedback we receive.
In particular, we seek to enable people to:
- navigate pages, menus, and forms with a keyboard, without a mouse;
- understand and browse content easily, thanks to consistent headings, labels, and messages;
- use the site with a screen reader, a braille display, or other assistive technologies, enlarging text as needed;
- ask for help or an accessible version when a barrier arises.
Framework and status
Créativité Québec aims to evolve this site in line with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. We also draw on the Government of Québec's Standard on Web Accessibility (SGQRI 008 3.0), without this meaning that the Standard applies legally to the organization.
| Element | Information |
|---|---|
| Target framework | WCAG 2.2, Level AA |
| Current status | Continuous improvement |
| Method | Ongoing technical and manual checks |
| Scope evaluated | Pages, components and user journeys reviewed progressively |
| Next review | Periodic review as the site evolves |
Accessibility is an ongoing process: despite the checks carried out, some barriers may remain on certain pages, documents, or older content. We therefore do not state that the entire site conforms to WCAG 2.2, Level AA.
Measures and verifications
Here is the essence of what we put in place and check:
- semantic page structure, logical heading order, and a skip link to the main content;
- full keyboard navigation and visible focus in menus, forms, and modals;
- verified colour contrasts and interactive states, with information never conveyed by colour alone;
- alternative text for images that carry information;
- forms with accessible labels, instructions, error messages, and confirmations;
- responsive display on mobile and readability at 200% zoom;
- respect for the reduced-motion system preference and correct language declarations;
- automated checks supplemented by manual verification.
Known limitations and external content
Some limitations may remain:
- Downloadable documents: older PDFs or presentations may not be fully structured for assistive technologies.
- Audiovisual content: some older videos may lack captions, a transcript, or a description.
- Older content: some pages or complex interactions still need to be re-evaluated with several assistive technologies. Some older content, including content in the English and Spanish versions, may still require accessibility improvements. These improvements are progressively incorporated across the different language versions of the site.
- External services: embedded or linked third-party platforms — video, newsletter, ticketing, social media — have their own interfaces, which we do not fully control.
A solution is always possible
If a piece of content or a document creates a problem for you, contact us so we can look for a solution or an accessible format with you: an HTML version, a structured document, plain text, a transcript, a description, or human assistance.
Report a barrier or request an accessible format
Please report any barrier that prevents you from accessing information, navigating, using a form, or completing an action. You can also request an accessible format. You do not have to disclose a diagnosis, a medical condition, or any sensitive information to ask for help. No diagnosis or medical information is required to submit an accessibility request. Please avoid sharing medical or sensitive information that is not necessary to process your request.
If you wish, tell us the page concerned, the task you were trying to complete, the barrier encountered, the device or technology used, the format that would help you, and a way to reach you.

What happens after you write to us
We receive your request and review it in order to understand the barrier. We look for a suitable solution or another format, and we forward the issue to the appropriate person or provider when needed. We will get back to you as soon as reasonably possible when clarification or follow-up is needed. When we cannot immediately provide the requested solution, we explain the situation and look for another realistic option.
Continuous improvement
Créativité Québec progressively integrates accessibility considerations into the design, evolution, and maintenance of its digital platforms. Comments and reported barriers help us identify priority improvements and prevent the same problem from recurring.
This statement is reviewed periodically and may evolve as the site, our tools and our practices change.
